STEPTEMBER
Throughout the month of September, the Kennerlys team took part in the Steptember challenge to walk 10,000 steps a day for 28 days to support people living with cerebal palsy. Encouraging a bit of healthy office competition the staff split into two teams, the Accountants versus the Admin, and by the end of Steptember the Kennerlys team had walked a combined 2,782,532 steps!
AWARENESS CAMBODIA
Kennerlys is passionate about supporting the Case For Change program via Awareness Cambodia, and help empower children to realise their dreams.
Kennerlys recently supported the purchase of 100 backpacks, school supplies and hygiene packs for rural children in the Province of Kompong Speu in Cambodia.
MOVEMBER
The Movember Foundation is the only charity tackling men’s health on a global scale, year round. We have one goal: to stop men dying too young. Lejo continues to proudly support the Movember Foundation each November.
KENYA ORPHANAGE
In 2008/2009 Lejo Ouwendyk, Managing Director of Kennerlys heard about the plight of countless Kenyan orphans via the media and actively researched organisations and projects that he and his team could get involved with, and help.
Lejo discovered Hero’s of the Nation, and was immediately inspired to help answer the plight of orphans in Nyahururu, Kenya. The orphanage is the largest in Kenya, and currently houses and educates over 500 children.
VINNIES CEO SLEEPOUT
On Thursday, 19th June Lejo once again participated in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout to raise awareness and funds for homelessness by sleeping outside in the cold for the night. Across Australia there are more than 100,000 homeless people. For more information or to get involved ceosleepout.org.au
PERTH INTERNATIONAL JAZZ FESTIVAL
Kennerlys CEO Lejo Ouwendyk has joined as a newly appointed Board member, and Kennerlys is proudly on board as a program partner!
PIJF’s mission is to celebrate jazz in all its beautiful forms, making a positive impact on Western Australia’s arts and culture scene. They collaborate with local, domestic, and international artists to create top-notch jazz experiences in Perth and regional WA.
WEST AUSTRALIAN BALLET
We are proud to announce that the 2020 Kennerlys Young Artist Scholarship has been awarded to Brent Carson of the West Australian Ballet company. Through this scholarship, Brent has the opportunity to work alongside professional dancers at the WA Ballet company for the entire year, while he moves closer to realising his dreams of becoming a successful, professional dancer.
